How UpstartRadar stays free

Listing a project, backing, commenting, earning points and spending credits are free for every member. Here's how the site pays its way, and the lines it won't cross.

How it's funded

• Affiliate links. Some tools we recommend to creators are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, the tool company may pay us a commission. You pay nothing extra, and every affiliate link is labelled.
• Sponsors. In future, the weekly email and Creator Spotlight may carry one clearly marked sponsor. Sponsors pay; members don't.
• Separate tools. RuleRadar, our Reddit posting companion, is available separately for A$15 to people who aren't members. Founding Members, and members who reach 50 reputation, download it free from their Account page. Any separate tools we build later will work the same way: members can earn free access by taking part.

What we'll never do

• Sell or share your personal information.
• Let anyone pay for placement that looks earned. Featured slots are bought with credits you earn by taking part, never with money, and the Creator Spotlight can never be bought.
• Recommend a tool we don't think is genuinely useful, just because it pays a commission.
• Take away a free feature and put it behind a payment.
